Anyone can read or watch the news from around the world, and realize something very interesting. What’s interesting is not so much the news itself…but the story BEHIND the news.

The actual “news” is the link between Bible prophecy and our world’s current events. The more I study the Word of God and read the prophecies of end time events that are to take place before the coming of Christ, the more I really see what’s going on RIGHT NOW. And believe me…rarely a day goes by that my jaw doesn’t hang open in awe…having just watched an event unfold locally, nationally or internationally, that I had just read about in Old Testament or New Testament prophecy. You can literally turn on just about any local or national news TV program and see Scripture fulfilled throughout its stories, and you can pick up your Bible and read words on its pages that match the words and actions in our current newscasts.

THE BOTTOM LINE IS THIS…Bible prophecies are unfolding more frequently, every day of our lives! Let he who has eyes, see…let he who has ears, hear…and let he who understands with his heart, turn…and be healed. (Isaiah 6:9-10).

One event that MUST take place BEFORE the day Jesus Christ returns to this earth is, “the time of the apostasy”. In the words of the Apostle Paul, “Let no one deceive or beguile you in any way, for that day will not come except the apostasy comes first…” (2 Thes 2:3). THIS IS TODAY.

Apostasy is a “defection”, a “desertion”, or a “departure” from one’s PURE faith or principles. The dictionary states, an apostate deviates and is a “traitor” to his/her faith. Paul is saying that Jesus Christ will NOT return UNTIL a large number of people within the Church of Christ, abandon the TRUE GOSPEL of Christ. Now, when you look around, do you see a change in what many Christians believe today? Do you see a change in what many preachers are saying, or aren’t saying, from the pulpits? Do many preachers even mention repentance or hell…two primary subjects Jesus spoke of quite often? Do you see that many churches are focusing on “entertaining” their congregations…and removing Scripture that they say is seen as “harsh or offensive”? And the most horrible example of all…nationally, MORE THAN HALF of “Christians” say they now believe that the Word of God is NOT “absolute truth”…and what is “true for one person”, may not be “true for another person”. These people believe “truth is relative”…meaning they believe “truth is a moving target” that depends on each person and the circumstances each person is going through at the time...rather than on the absolute spoken Word of God! The blasphemy, and ridiculousness is stunning!

The Apostle Paul said, “I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the One Who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel- which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the Gospel of Christ.” (Galatians 1:6-7). “For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.” (2 Tim 4:3-4). That’s how it is today…if someone doesn’t like what one church says or believes…he/she just packs up and FINDS a different “church” that agrees with his/her mindset. This is apostasy…and this is NOT being a TRUE follower of Jesus Christ. And yet…God’s Word WILL come to pass. Amen.
