William H. “Bill” Martin, 68, passed away January 10, 2020, in Mulhall, Oklahoma. He was born July 9, 1951, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to William Henry and Beatrice Martin.
Besides farming and ranching in the Mulhall area for most of his life, Bill served the community in many ways. He was a member of the Oklahoma National Guard as well as the Guthrie Fire Department. He proudly worked as a firefighter and as an EMT and was honored to be a part of the search and rescue operation at the Murrah Building in Oklahoma City in the aftermath of the Oklahoma City bombing in 1995.
Bill is survived by his sons, Matthew Martin of Enid, Oklahoma and Luke Martin and wife Kristina and granddaughters Kadynce and Lydia Martin, all of Mulhall; and sister Loretta Oliver and husband Charles of Edmond, Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two nephews, Chuck Oliver and Scott Oliver.
His great joy in life was spending time with his beloved granddaughters Kadynce and Lydia. They loved their Papa Martin and will greatly miss him.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 15, 2020, at Lawrie Cemetery in Guthrie. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, 12:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M.
