Lorin “Corky” Arthur Ashpaugh, 91, of Guthrie, OK passed away Monday, June 5, 2023 in Oklahoma City, OK. He was born July 25, 1931 in Guthrie to Clarence Arthur and Edna Pearl (Breeden) Ashpaugh.
Corky was born and raised in Guthrie. He was an assistant manager for Cotteral Furniture Company for 30 years. He was the president of the Moose Lodge in Guthrie as well as the Logan County Trail Riders. During Trail Rider events, he worked cattle at Wilbur Fudge’s Ranch. Corky enjoyed camping and fishing with his family. In his spare time, he broke and trained horses and participated in team roping events.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jolene; five siblings; his son, David; and one grandson.
Corky is survived by his sister, Arletha Palmer; his daughter, Sharon Ashpaugh (Rene Kifer); his son, Ronald Ashpaugh (Kim); six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great- greatgrandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews, and his pet donkey, Chester.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, June 8, 2023 at Smith Memorial Chapel with Tyler Rudek officiating. Interment followed at Summit View Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.
