Kelly Lynn Johns, age 62, of Guthrie, Oklahoma passed away on February 10, 2023. She was born on December 19, 1960, in Santa Ana, California to Roger P. and Jo Nel (Thomason) Poteet.
Kelly married David Johns on November 7, 1989, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Kelly lived in Guthrie most of her life and attended Guthrie Schools. Kelly recently retired from Local Loans and she had been a hair stylist for many years. She loved her kids and grandkids, music and playing the guitar. Kelly loved all animals, especially horses. She was baptized at the Church of Christ in Guthrie.
Survivors include her husband David Johns of the home in Guthrie, mother Jo Nel Swinney of Guthrie, her four children, Brian Hall of Guthrie, Billy Connor and wife Danielle of Guthrie, Stevie Johns of Guthrie and Michael Johns of Tennessee; her siblings, Karyn Forsgren and husband Tony of Crescent, Stacy Cobb and husband Timothy of Guthrie and Stephen Swinney and wife Lisa of Sand Springs. Kelly is also survived by her grandchildren, Sara Childs, Ryan Childs, Zoey Childs, Clare Connor, River Connor and Hazel Hall, aunt Judy Reynolds of Perkins, uncle Fred Hargett of Fresno, CA, good friend Virginia Cunningham, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father Roger Poteet, stepfather Cecil Swinney, sister Kathy Kelly and son Ryan Hall.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, February 17, 2023, at Hayes Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bill Williams officiating. Services are under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.
