John Alvin Marion

John Alvin Marion was born on November 14, 1938, to John and Ruby (Mott) Marion, east of Hennessey, Oklahoma. The family moved to Mulhall when John was 18 months of age.

John passed away on November 28, 2022, in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

John married Dorothy Rothermel on April 3, 1959, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Guthrie, Oklahoma. John was the first boy to graduate from Benedictine Heights School in Guthrie in 1957, after it changed to a co-ed school. He went to work for the Benedictine Sisters until they moved to the convent in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1962. They moved to Stroud, Oklahoma where he worked on a ranch for Gene Handcock for several years, he later worked for Williams Refractory and for Proctor Oil Service. In 1987 they moved back to Mulhall, and he worked tor Donald Weinkauf until he retired in 2004.

He is survived by his three children; Cynthia Marie Ringwald of Paris, Texas; John Stephen (Steve) Marion and his wife Michelle of Mulhall, OK; Debborah Lynn Marion of Stillwater, OK. He is also survived by his three granddaughters and their husbands, Shayla Ringwald Kelly and husband Sammie of Centerton, AR; Melissa Ringwald Baker and husband Jason of Paris, TX; Elise Marion Hibler and husband Jager of California. His great grandchildren, Addison Clare Baker, Stetson James Kelley, Emma Leah Grace Kelley, Kaliopee Elise Hibler, Maddilynn Annmarie Hibler and Paxton Milo Jager Hibbler.

John was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Marion on February21, 2022, his parents, brother Bill Marion, Sister Karen Marion and brother George Marion.

Mass of Christion burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. James Wickersham officiating. Burial will follow at Summit View Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.

A Rosary will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Friday, December 9th, at Hayes Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Friday from 12:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M.
