Ritter

Glenda Lea (Waller) Hall Ritter, 78 years old, of Guthrie, OK, passed away while holding her sister, Sandy’s hand on Thursday morning, June 27, 2019 at Willow Creek Health Care Center. Glenda was born on May 6, 1941, to Vern and Mildred Waller in Guthrie --just a half a block from where she lived most of her life. She was a member of the Poplar & Warner Church of Christ.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her 1st husband, Leroy Hall; her 2nd husband, Bill Ritter; her older sister, Verna Barney; and her 2 great-grandsons, Trent and Albie Reed. Glenda is survived by 3 siblings: her older brother, George Waller of Arlington, TX, her younger brother, Tommy Waller of Hesperia, CA and her younger sister, Sandy Smith and husband, Steve of Guthrie. She is also survived by her daughter, Lena Hall Shingleton and husband, Artie of Crescent, OK; 4 grandchildren, Lisa, Kenneth, James, and John; and 2 great-granddaughters, Serenity and Lilith, all of Crescent. Glenda is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Glenda left behind her constant companion…, her sweet dog and special friend, “Sassy”, that

she loved for 9 years. Nothing was more important to Glenda than taking care of her family. She had lots of fun camping and fishing with Leroy and she also enjoyed deer hunting with Bill. She was so excited to be a part of a Church family again when she moved in with her sister, Sandy, then began attending Ladies’ class and Ladies’ night out as well as fellowshipping with her Church family. Glenda was truly fulfilled by blessing others with her homemade gifts of crocheting, quilting, and sewing. She especially liked to surprise family and friends with it. She was a faithful OSU fan and loved rooting for her Cowboys!!

In childhood, Glenda contracted polio. This presented challenges she would face her whole life. In spite of that, she always remembered to count her blessings and knew she was a child of God. We believe that God has restored her body now and made her whole again. The last thing she spoke to Sandy was… “I want to run”.

Funeral services for Glenda were held Monday, July 1, 2019 at Smith Memorial Chapel.

Services were under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.
