Carol Ruth Field

Carol Ruth Field was born on September 9, 1945, in Shawnee, OK to Ruth Helen Chorette and Edward Reid Chorette. After a few years the family moved to Hominy, OK where Carol attended school. Carol was a proud member of the Osage Tribe and enjoyed attending various tribal events in the community. Carol joined Hominy Rainbow Assembly in 1958 and served as Worthy Advisor and was honored to receive the Grand Cross of Color.

While in High School Carol played the flute and was a twirler for the Hominy High School band. She was also part of the Cheerleading squad. Carol graduated from Hominy High School in 1963. Following graduation, she moved to Tulsa with several friends and got a job. In 1964 Carol married her High School sweetheart, L. Dean Field to whom she was married for 53 years. The couple lived in Tulsa, OK and were very active in several competitive bowling leagues. In 1969 their daughter, Gretchen was born, and became the center of her parents’ lives.

When Gretchen started school, Carol became active in the PTO at Jenks Elementary School and loved organizing the school carnival every year. In 1982 Carol became a member of the Order of the Eastern Star at Red Fork Chapter and later transferred her membership to Broken Arrow Chapter. She remained active with Oklahoma Rainbow until 2000. In the early 80’s Carol went to work for Four Season’s Sunrooms in Tulsa as their Office Manager and continued to work there until she retired in 2007.

Once she retired, Carol sold her home in Tulsa and moved to Guthrie, OK to become a fulltime grandma to her two grandchildren, Morgan and Brendan. Carol threw everything she had into being the best Grandma she could be. She was always at their activities and enjoyed having them spend the night whenever they could.
