Angela F. Gilbert (Vahlkamp), 82, of Corrales, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2024.
Born on August 5, 1942, in Brooklyn, New York, Angie touched the lives of everyone around her. She was a passionate lover of the outdoors, spending her time camping and fishing, and was the first woman to work on the Alaskan pipeline. Her love for the outdoors was only surpassed by her love of cooking. Angie found great joy in preparing meals for her loved ones, often delighting them with her famous Italian dishes. Her vibrant personality and culinary prowess contributed to the success of her two restaurants in Guthrie, Oklahoma in the early 1980’s.
Angie had a unique way of captivating those around her. Her outrageous charm, coupled with her boundless generosity, attracted friends from all walks of life. She was a force of nature, leaving an impact on every person she met, whether they loved her or found themselves caught in the whirlwind of her strong spirit. Angie leaves behind a collection of unforgettable memories and cherished moments that will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to share in her extraordinary life.
She was preceded in death by her Father Frank Fillare; Mother, Rosalie Fillare; brother - Roy; beloved grandson, Dominic Shipman; goddaughter, Kim Fillare; and niece, Rita Fillare. Angie leaves behind a loving legacy in her family. She is survived by her children: Roseann Errigo (Vicky), Louis Errigo and fiancée Tammy Slechta; Suzanne Hubbard and husband Todd; Dianne Dinkel and fiancée Rodney Bolles; Nicky Shipman and Sam Sena; and Maryanne Miceli and partner Ruby Espinoza. Angie’s love never wavered for the two children she helped raise in their early years, Tracy Vahlkamp Williams, and Katrina Stambaugh. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and her loyal canine protector and companion, T-Bone. Her sister, Bernice Bennett—whom she raised like one of her own children also survives her, along with Bernice’s children, Joan Ecker and husband Raymond, and their children.
To the love of Angela's life, she would want you to know that after all this time, she still loved you and you were always on her mind.
