1938-2024
Donna Lucille Romine, 86, of Guthrie, Oklahoma, passed away December 8, 2024. Donna was born September 11, 1938 at home in Empire, Oklahoma. She was the 9th of 11 children born to R.E. and Etta Hughes.
Donna grew up moving to different areas of Oklahoma following her Dad’s job as a bulldozer operator in the oil fields. She finished her education in Elmore City, Oklahoma. She married Don Williams in 1960 and moved to Guthrie. They were married 25 years at the time of Don’s death. Donna married her soul mate, Bill Romine in 1986, celebrating 38 years together.
Donna spent all of her professional career serving the public. She is probably remembered most for being the bookkeeper and credit manager for Otasco from 1970 to their closing in 1988. Donna spent time as the purchasing agent for Guthrie Job Corp from 1990 to 1994. She then took a position with Logan County Hospital in 1994, where she would stay until her retirement.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don Williams; grandson, Kyle Moss; son-in-law, Mike Moss; 3 brothers and 6 sisters.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Romine, of the home; sister, Bobbie Presgrove, of Comanche, Oklahoma; daughter, Francie Moss, of El Reno, Oklahoma; bonus son, Travis Romine and wife, Aunya, of Edmond, Oklahoma; and bonus daughter, Tina Johnson, of Enid, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren: Heather Smith, of El Reno; Cory Moss and wife, Danielle, of El Reno; Gabe and Hudson Romine, of Edmond, Marah, Emmitt and Levin Johnson of Edmond and Guthrie; six great-grandchildren: Wyatt and Olivia Bertrand of Guthrie; Maddie, Maelee and Garett of El Reno; Logan Nelson of El Reno; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services were held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, December 16, 2024 at Smith Memorial Chapel. Services were under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.
