One person was taken to a hospital Thursday after an incident led to a shooting between roommates at a south Logan County home
The sheriff’s office responded around 1:30 p.m. after receiving a report of a shooting in the 900 block of Shelly Lane, which is near Bryant and Waterloo.
A shooting victim was found at the scene and taken to a hospital, said Logan County Sheriff Damon Devereaux.
“He (shooting victim) was talking to the doctors, and that was a good sign,” Devereaux said.
Devereaux said there was some kind of domestic situation between the roommates when the shooting occurred. One of the roommates told deputies that they were attacked, and the other said they were defending themselves.
The roommate who was shot escaped through a window and went to a neighbor’s house, where someone called 911.
Devereaux said an investigation is underway to determine if anyone may be arrested.
“We haven't labeled a suspect or a victim yet because we're still trying to determine, obviously, if there was an aggressor, if this was an accident, if somebody was attacked, or if it's a substance issue,” he said. “There's still a lot of investigating to do.”
