Lee James Allen

Lee James Allen, age 91, passed away on November 13, 2024, in Edmond, Oklahoma. Born on April 10, 1933, in Arkansas City, Kansas, to Clarence and Iva (Seal) Allen, Lee was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. He served during the Korean Conflict on the USS Dortch and was honored with a Korean Service Medal, a United Nations Medal, and a National Defense Medal.

After his military service, Lee worked for MFG Concrete Pumps. He moved to Guthrie from Paramount, California, and had called Guthrie home for the past 25 years. Lee was a former member of the First United Presbyterian Church and a member of the Brothers of the Third Wheel. He had a passion for motorcycles, especially his bright green trike.

Survivors include his children Janet Kirsch and husband Dennis, Larry Allen, Rick Allen and wife Darlene, all of Guthrie; sisters Judy Dodd and husband Randy of Glenpool and Paula Maddox and husband Bobby of Edmond; six grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. Lee was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 22, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the Hayes Funeral Home Chapel.
