Billy Ray Gummow was born May 26, 1929 to Carl and Edna (Dunham) Gummow. He passed away on August 23, 2024.
Bill lived a full life with many accomplishments. Although his home was in Guthrie, OK, Bill traveled to many states winning races as a thoroughbred horse jockey from the late 40’s to the early 60’s. After being forced to retire due to a back injury, Bill worked for Dolese as a batchman and retired after 22 years. Bill spent his spare time farming cattle and caring for his properties. He enjoyed riding horses, traveling, and taking care of his family.
Billy is preceded in death by his parents, wife Doris ( Teter) Gummow, and his siblings Don, Carol, and Patty.

wife of 25 years, Thelma. His 3 children Billy Don Gummow, Linda Powell, and Lisa Casey. As well as grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-greatgrandchildren.
Bill’s graveside funeral service was held at 10:30 A.M., Monday, August 26, 2024, at Summit View Cemetery, Guthrie. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.
There will be no visitation.
