Guthrie High’s cross country teams finished third at the Owasso meet last weekend.
The Lady Bluejays collected 116 points in a field of 11 teams. Owasso won the meet with 21 points and Edmond Memorial was second with 35. Both are Class 6A schools.
The Owasso runners finished 1-2-5-6-7, while Guthrie ran 10-18-1920-49. Owasso’s Quinn Thomason led the 5K course in 19:03.78.
Guthrie’s Kamryn Boller again was the Lady Bluejays’ top finisher, in 10th, with a time of 20:45.01. Raley Hooper (20:46.28), Hannah Smith (20:49.76) and Peyton Read (20:50.40) finished 18-20. Kristal Botello was 49th. Cameron Ireton and Brooklyn Toomey also competed among 82 girls.
On the boys side, the Bluejays collected 88 points, while Owasso ran away from the field with 17 points. Booker T. Washington was second with 77.
Owasso runners would finish 1-2-3-4-7, while Guthrie ran 5-18-20-2124. Owasso’s Dane Janowski led the 85-runner 5K field in 16:09.89.
Guthrie’s top finisher was senior Lance Sallee in fifth place with a time of 16:28.10. Tyler Waggoner (17:53.21), Eli Fortney (17:58.68), Terry Beckett (17:59.06) and Riley Wilkerson (18:06.54) also figured in the scoring. Isaiah Blevins was 33rd (19:50.8) but did not count in the team score.
The teams have two meets left before the regional event and will go to Shawnee to the OBU Invitational this week and then the conference meet on Oct. 11.
