LaVanna Sue Roberts of Oklahoma City went to her heavenly home on November 28 at the age of 81.
Sue was born on March 10, 1940, in Elk City, Oklahoma to Everett and Cora Mae Wild.
Sue graduated from Sayre High School in 1958 and Sayre Junior College. She then attended Oklahoma State University. She married Royice Dale Roberts of Sweetwater on January 30, 1960, in Sayre. Dale and Sue began their life together in Stillwater OK. While there they welcomed their first child Royice Dale Roberts Jr. on November 22, 1962. Later Dale and Sue moved to Kismet, KS where they welcomed their second child Rickey Don Roberts on August 9, 1965.
Eventually Dale and Sue made their long-time home in Crescent, OK. Her priorities were always her family and church. She loved music and played the piano and sang in the choir. She was a dedicated volunteer assuming leadership roles with the Crescent FFA and Band Booster clubs. While raising her family she worked as an office professional for the First Baptist Church in Guthrie and eventually retired from the Logan County ASCS office. Upon retirement Dale and Sue moved to Independence, KS before moving a final time to Edmond.
Sue is survived by her husband, Royice Dale, both of her sons Royice Dale Jr. and Rickey Don, two daughter-in-laws Anna Maria and Sonya Joan and 4 grand children Bryce Allen Roberts, Tanner Garrett
Roberts, SaRae Sonya Roberts, and Landon Eli Roberts. As well as a host of nephews cousins and friends.
The family will be available to greet friends on Thursday December 2 from 4-7p.m and the celebration of Sue’s life will be held on Friday December 3, 10:00 a.m. at Crawford Funeral Service 610 N.W. 178th St.
