Authorities are investigating after a man was found dead inside an upstairs room at the TownHouse Motel earlier this week.
The Guthrie Police Department received a call at 9:08 AM Monday morning reporting that there was someone who may have been injured in a room at the TownHouse Motel. GPD and EMS personnel were dispatched to check the welfare of the occupant.
The first responders discovered the body of 40-year-old Christopher Henry Schaffner from Guthrie. The GPD requested the assistance of Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation crime scene personnel to aid in determining the cause and manner of death. The deceased was transported for additional, extensive and exhaustive examination by the Oklahoma Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
“GPD Criminal Investigation personnel are continuing to gather and analyze evidence as it is collected, and will not rest until all pertinent questions have been satisfactorily answered,” GPD Chief Don Sweger said in a release.
As of press time Friday afternoon, the police were still investigating the circumstances leading to Schaffner’s death.
