One Killed In Three-Car Crash

A three-vehicle crash on Highway 74 in west Guthrie this past Saturday evening led to five injured people, one fatally.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol has released the details of the crash and the identities of those involved, now that next-of-kin to the deceased party have been notified.

The accident occurred just after 7:30pm on Saturday, July 20, on Highway 74 a quarter-mile north of Triplett Road in farwest Guthrie. Harika Jetti, 25, of Edmond, passenger in a 2022 Chevrolet Camaro involved in the accident, was pronounced dead at the scene from head and trunk injuries. The OHP report states that Jetti was pinned inside the vehicle for 15 minutes after the accident occurred.

The driver of the Camaro, Srikanth Eduru, 27, also of Edmond, was transported by Guthrie EMS to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City for internal injuries; he was treated and released.

Also injured were Lauren Cronister, 26, of Crescent, driving her 2018 Dodge Ram. Cronister was transported to Mercy Medical Center in Guthrie for head, arm, leg, and trunk injuries. She was treated and released.

Additionally, Nathan Smith, 47, and Amy Smith, 47, both of Guthrie, were also involved, driving a 2023 Chevrolet Traverse. They were both transported by Guthrie EMS to OU Medical Center for multiple injuries. They were both treated and released.

OHP is still working to determine the circumstances of the accident and have not yet provided details regarding what happened or how it occurred. However, OHP does confirm that the conditions were not optimal, as it was raining and the road was wet. They further report that all people involved were wearing seatbelts, that airbags deployed in all vehicles, and that no occupants were ejected.

As the incident is still under investigation, the News Leader will update this story as events warrant.
