Those needing assistance after the recent floods and tornados can seek help this Saturday, June 29. Oklahoma Voluntary Organizations Active in Disasters (VOAD) is opening a Multi-Agency Resource Center (MARC) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the First Christian Church, 402 E. Noble Ave., Guthrie and those affected are encouraged to come.
“This is a one-stop shop. Even if you have a case open with one organization, you can see if there are other organizations to help, too,” said Executive Director for the Oklahoma Chapter of Red Cross Mary Ann White. “This is a recovery site for people who have been affected by the recent floods and tornados.”
The MARC is a central location for local and state agencies, as well as human service organizations, to answer anyone’s questions and provide information on disaster-related assistance. There will be many organizations represented and people do not have to be a resident of Logan County to get assistance but do need to live in Oklahoma and are asked to bring proof of address.
Those needing more information are encouraged to call Kaylinn Mayfield, Director of Disaster Services for Catholic Charities at 405-200-8760.
