IT’S HOMECOMING WEEK IN GUTHRIE, STATE CHAMPIONS OF 2011 TO BE HONORED FRIDAY NIGHT

It is one of the biggest and best traditions in Guthrie that everyone looks forward to every year. It’s Homecoming week. The students have been having dressup days the first three days of the week and working on their class floats for Friday afternoon.

The GHS student council has been hard at work with T-Shirt orders and all the assemblies and events that will have to happen in the next couple of days as they welcome hundreds of alumni back to campus as they honor the Classes of 1970 and 1971 for their 50th class reunions after none were held last year because of COVID-19.

The alumni assembly starts the day off on Friday at 9 a.m. at the high school. The Homecoming Royalty assembly will start at 11 a.m. The students are dismissed at school around 1 p.m. to finish getting ready for the parade at 3 p.m. through downtown Guthrie.

The queen announcement will happen prior to the game at 6:30 p.m. with the game kicking off at 7 p.m. against Woodward. The state championship team from 2011 will be honored at halftime and the various reunion classes in attendance will be honored throughout the game.

Welcome back all Alumni.
