The annual 89er Days Celebration is back in 2021. The theme for this year is honoring Women of the Military. Activities start on April 13 with a downtown hoedown event.
The annual button is now available for $5.
The Guthrie News Leader office has the 2020 and the 2021 buttons available for sale during normal business hours.
The annual carnival and food court will be back starting on April 14.
The Great Bed Race is back in 2021. If you have not seen it, you do not want to miss it. The event this year will be by Honor Park starting at 6 p.m. There is also more live music downtown starting at 6:30 p.m.
The Geezers, Gassers, and Hawgs are back and will bring about 200 classic cars and bikes to downtown Guthrie on Friday night. The Big Wheel Race for kids starts the night at 5 p.m. in front of the post office. The U.S. Marshall’s Show along with Will Rogers is at 7 p.m. Friday night at the American Legion Hall.
The week of events comes to an end on Saturday. The 92nd Annual Parade starts at noon by the Scottish Rite Temple and will make its way down Oklahoma Ave. and back to Harrison Ave. ending at Division St. because of the bridge construction. The carnival will close at 11 p.m. Saturday night. Wristbands, required for admission, may be purchased for $30 from 1-6 p.m. A separate wristband, also $30, is required for the night session that runs from 5-11 p.m.
