Homecoming week kicks off Monday in Guthrie with the theme of “Game On” being selected by the student council this year. The week of activities at the school will culminate with the crowning of the queen Friday night at halftime of the football game with Northwest Classen. Kick-off is 7 p.m. The honor class this year is the class of 1969.

The students will be spending the week with school activities and putting the finishing touches on their class floats. 

The student council has scheduled dress up days every day next week. Monday is Lazy Day, Tuesday is Cowboys vs. Aliens Day and Wednesday is VSCO girl vs. boy/girl. The week finishes up with Christmas in October day on Thursday and Friday is BlueJays Spirit Day.

The Homecoming Court for 2019 has been selected with the senior girls and their escorts being Holden Crews/Justin Adams; Ellie Throckmorton/JD Coonfield; Emma Taylor/Jay LeGrande; Naomi Hudson/Hayden Hirzel; Da’Lynn Sumo/Mica Roberson and Cayden Ward/Broghan Semrad. The junior class attendant is Jenna Steiner with escort Carson Clift. The sophomore attendant is Mallery Osban with escort Spade Pool and the freshmen attendant is Shelby Lynn with escort Raul Ocampo.

The week will wrap up with a full day of events on Friday October 25 starting with the Alumni Registration at the high school starting at 8 a.m. and the alumni program starting at 9 a.m. The alumni program will last until approximately 11 a.m. and feature performances from the GHS Band, Choir, Pied Pipers, Drama Club, Cheerleaders, presentation of football/organizational royalty and new Hall of Fame inductees.

The students will have their annual assembly at 11:15 a.m. with early school dismissal scheduled for 2:15 p.m. The parade lineup starts immediately after dismissal at the Scottish Rite Temple with the parade kicking off at 3 p.m. The parade will end at Jelsma Stadium. 

The traditional tailgate party starts at 5:30 p.m. with kick-off at 7 p.m. The Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2019 will be introduced at the game. This year’s class includes Emily Davis, Donte Foster, Dr. Nathan Brown, Jamie Theobald and the 1989 state champion baseball team. The queen gets crowned at halftime.
