On Dec. 19, the Guthrie Police Department continued their Christmas with a Cop tradition and were able to spread Christmas cheer to the nearly 70 children they took shopping.
Ryan Friesen, the President of Guthrie Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #105, said this year was a great success and would like to thank the amazing group of volunteers, local businesses and community members.
“The Guthrie FOP Christmas with Cops, last Thursday, was a great success,” Friesen said. “We were able to help nearly 70 children have a little bright Christmas. A huge thank you to an amazing group of volunteers, Debra, Kathy, Shelly, and Ron, who were instrumental in making the event a big hit.”
Friesen also emphasized the importance of community involvement because without the continued support of local businesses and volunteers—this would not be possible.
“We are also thankful to the phenomenal Guthrie people and businesses, who donated money to make this event possible. Guthrie is an amazing cummunity and we are privileged to serve.”
