Local convenience store owner Manjit S. Hayer pleaded guilty to nine charges on June 4,
2021. The charges consist of seven counts of trafficking in food stamps along with two counts of
unlawful possession of a controlled dangerous substance (methamphetamine).
By pleading guilty, Hayer can potentially avoid serving jail time. After his arrest on the
drug charges, Hayer was taken to the Logan County Detention Center, where he was released
on a $5,000 bond later.
The Oklahoma Inspector General’s Office charged Hayer, also known as Gee, for the
food stamps trafficking on July 10, 2019 at the same court appearance. Bond on that charge
was $25,000 and Hayer was bonded out shortly after his court appearance.
After pleading guilty, Hayer was sentenced to a four-year suspended sentence with the
department of corrections. He also received a two-year suspended sentence on the trafficking
charges. Both cases will run concurrently.
According to online records, Hayer paid $3,270.50 in fines and court costs.
