2022 Year in Review

July

The Guthrie City Council and Public Works Authority met for a regularly scheduled meeting last Tuesday, as well as an additional Special Workshop.

At the workshop, City Manager Leroy Alsup brought forth an alternate plan on how to budget for the city expenses and projects. The plan involved City Council input and discussion as opposed to City Staff, who originally planned the budget. This proposed plan for budgeting was not taken lightly by the Council and was called “vindictive.” As such, the proposed plan was not put into effect and City Staff still hold main responsibility for the budget.

Amy Hurley was honored as an Unsung Hero by Mayor Steve Gentling at the beginning of the Public Works Authority meeting. This is for all of her hard work and dedication to the City of Guthrie.

The only item on the consent agenda were the minutes from June 21st and they were approved unanimously.

Also approved unanimously by the Public Works Authority is the revised fiscal year 2023 non-bargaining employee pay plan pursuant to section 700 “Pay Plan and Pay” of the City of Guthrie Personnel Policies and Procedures manual. This item was also voted on by the City Council which was approved as well.

City Council consent agenda approved both the minutes from June 21st as well as the agreement between the City of Guthrie and Sodexho Operations LLC for the use of Highland Hall’s facility for the Logan County Aging Services.

Both Resolution 202220 and 2022-21 authorizing the submission of two 2022 Discovery Trails Project Grant Pre-Proposals to Oklahoma Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust (TSET), were approved by the City Council.
