A high-speed pursuit that began in south Logan County and ended in Oklahoma City resulted in four arrests after a relentless chase by sheriff ’s deputies Katlin Long and Jonathon Randolph.

Speeds reportedly reached over 100 mph in the chase across multiple cities involving two suspects who were involved in a construction site burglary. Two other arrests followed.

Deputies were able to recover thousands of dollars of stolen goods from the construction site, including doors, tile and a garbage disposal, as well as burglary tools.

The pursuit began on the evening of Sept. 7, when the Logan County Sheriff ’s Office responded to a call of suspicious persons at the 10,000 block of Woodland Way in the Rosewood Addition in south Logan County.

Deputies were returning to their vehicles after clearing an empty construction site when Long heard a vehicle rev its engine and was startled seeing a singlecab Chevy pickup racing, without headlights, toward where their vehicles were parked.

She realized that the speeding truck would not have enough room to clear both sheriff ’s cars, and managed to jump away just as the truck made contact with her vehicle with “a loud pop.” Long could see several white doors piled into the bed of the truck.

Deputy Randolph shouted commands from the roadway for the driver to stop as the suspects drove past, but the truck continued accelerating and turned southbound. The deputies immediately gave chase.

As the suspects fled, deputies were only able to keep a visual on the truck as it passed under streetlights because the vehicle’s lights were not on.

The truck darted around another vehicle into oncoming traffic, causing that driver to swerve onto the shoulder. The suspects ran multiple red lights, and Deputy Long noted she had to reach a speed of 100 mph to try to keep up, and they were still going faster than her.

The suspects were eventually stopped and apprehended in the area of Memorial Road and May Avenue in Oklahoma City after the driver lost control and hit a median, damaging a tire.

Later that morning, two additional suspects were taken into custody in connection with the incident.

The driver of the truck was Lindina Gale Marmalejo, 54, of Newcastle. She was charged with assault and battery with a deadly weapon; endangering others while eluding police; conspiracy to commit a felony; larceny; second-degree burglary; and receiving, possessing, or concealing stolen property. Her bond was set at $100,000.

Her passenger, Michael Rodriguez, 45, of Oklahoma City, was charged with second-degree burglary; conspiracy; larceny; and receiving, possessing, or concealing stolen property. His bond was set at $50,000.

The third suspect, Justin Wasson, 44, of Oklahoma City, was charged with second-degree burglary; conspiracy; larceny; and receiving, possessing, or concealing stolen property. His bond also was set at $50,000.

The fourth suspect, Jonathan McGlarthy, 44, of Oklahoma City, was charged with conspiracy to commit a felony; second-degree burglary; and grand larceny.

All four were booked into the Logan County Jail.
