“Where Our Story Began” is the theme selected for the Guthrie High School Homecoming festivities this year. In one of the largest homecoming celebrations in the state, the Bluejays welcome back alumni with special events throughout the day on Friday, September 28.

The Alumni Program at the high school will include performances by the GHS Band and Choir, Pied Pipers, Drama Club, cheerleaders and a presentation of the 2018 football homecoming court and new Hall of Fame inductees.

At 2:30 p.m., the annual Homecoming Parade will showcase floats from each class and special appearances from alumni groups. GHS clubs and organizations march or ride through downtown. The parade route starts at the Masonic Temple (Capitol and Oklahoma) travels west on Oklahoma, turns south on 2nd, turns east on Harrison Ave. and ends at Jelsma Stadium.

The Guthrie Bluejays face the Guymon Tigers at Jelsma Stadium for their homecoming game with kickoff set for 7 p.m. The annual coronation and crowning of the queen will take place during halftime of the football game.
