Guthrie musician Joel Mosman and Oklahoma Uprising announced the release of their latest song, “Get Up,” debuting just before election day in hopes of encouraging people to go vote.
“The basic message of the song is ‘don’t just talk, get up and do something about what you believe in,’” Mosman told The News Leader about the song released today.
Oklahoma Uprising is an Alternative Country band led by Oklahoma songwriter Joel T. Mosman. Raw and lyrically rich songs with Americana elements explore community action themes by way of allegorical storytelling. Songwriting influences include Sturgill Simpson, Tom Waits, and Gillian Welch. Musical influences include the Drive-By-Truckers, Leon Russell, and Mike McClure.
Mosman said the band will also release a music video to accompany the song in the near future.
Mosman will be performing “Get Up” and other songs in a solo performance at Tower Theatre in Oklahoma City on November 6th for the Election Night Show Watch Party.
