89.7 The House FM and 101.9 HD2 My Praise FM surprised Guthrie Upper Elementary School teacher Audra Branson with a gift basket as a thanks for the dedication and time put into her classroom.

Branson, a sixth grade Language Arts teacher at the upper elementary, was randomly selected as one of the winners of the radio network’s Teacher Appreciation Contest, which asked listeners to nominate a teacher who is making an impact in their classrooms.

“Mrs. Branson is one of the most selfless, encouraging, loving people I’ve ever met,” Jo Ewy shared in nominating Branson. “ She truly has a heart for students, and this love for youth is exemplified daily in hundreds of different ways throughout our school.”

Winners of the contest received a $250 VISA gift card, along with a gift basket full of back-to-school goodies.

“We’re so glad we could be a blessing to Mrs. Branson and her students with this award,” Ted Riley, general manager of The House FM and My Praise FM, said. “Teachers put a lot of time, dedication and money into their classrooms and we loved the opportunity to honor Mrs. Branson.”
