    Pictured above, a group of 4-H participants from both Logan and Noble counties, ages about 9–16, learn about manners in an etiquette class. Instructor Taylor Harbuck [in green] from Noble County asked questions to the group about what is appropriate for a dinner table or restaurant, and taught the attendees how to act in certain situations. A lunch of spaghetti, a messy and usually difficult meal to eat with grace, was served to challenge the children’s new skills. FCS/4-H Educator for Logan County Cathy James says that this subject matter had not been addressed in 4-H classes in a long time. “We’ve also been experimenting with classes that include both counties,” James said. “So far it’s been great and it helps to keep our numbers up.”

Coyle FFA chapter members Logan Gibbs, Alexis Pross, Dayln Gunkel and Kenzie Williams participated in the 42nd Annual Oklahoma FFA Alumni Leadership Camp from June 29 through July 1, representing Coyle among the other 1,600 FFA members present from 289 chapters throughout the state. The camp took place at the Tulakogee Conference Center on Fort Gibson Lake. Coyle FFA Advisor Bailey Platt says the camp included leadership games and team-building exercises like a ropes course, water Olympics and a dodge ball tournament. Pross has attended the camp a total of three times, and said this year’s event was the best yet.
