1937-2024
Barbra Fern Bailey, age 86, of Guthrie, Oklahoma passed away on May 11, 2024, in Edmond, Oklahoma. Barbra was born on October 10, 1937, in Guthrie, Oklahoma to Truax Patrick 'T.P.' and Dorothy (Morris) Hayes.
Barbra touched the lives of many people in her community. She was a graduate of Guthrie High School and then married Tom Bailey on September 18, 1955, in Gainesville, Texas. They lived in Crescent for many years, where they were active members of the First Methodist Church. During her time in Crescent, she enjoyed volunteering for the Crescent Volunteer Fire Department's Bean Feed. She was also a talented beauty operator, owning and running her own beauty shop both in Crescent and later in Guthrie. Barbra enjoyed swimming, going to the lake, and traveling. She loved traveling to Europe and had many fond memories of her trips.
Survivors include her children, Tami Boxley and husband Gary, Pat Bailey and wife Rhonda and Anne Marie Thurman and husband Tim all of Guthrie. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. Barbra was preceded in death by her husband Tom who passed away on December 2, 2020, parents T.P. and Dorothy Hayes and two brothers, John E. Hayes and Jerry Pat Hayes.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
