Charles “Chuck” Arthur Austin

Charles “Chuck” Arthur Austin, age 95, of Guthrie, Oklahoma passed away on June 4, 2024. Chuck was born on December 13, 1928, in Guthrie to John and Blanche (Bussard) Austin.

Chuck lived in Guthrie all of his life. He graduated from Guthrie High School and attended Oklahoma A&M College, and was in the United States Air Force. He married Rita on January 27, 1951, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Chuck was a bookkeeper at Austin Cheverolet and Short’s Service Center. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. Chuck was also a member of Jaycees, Guthrie Golf and Country Club and Rotary. He enjoyed playing golf, hunting and fishing.

Chuck is survived by his two children, Bob Austin of Greenville, TX and Marilyn Austin Clark and husband Ron of Guthrie, grandchildren, Genevive Davis, Stefan Clark, Kylie Clark, Kathleen Clark, Brian Clark and Allen Austin. He is also survived by his great grandchildren, Sean Croy, Alexander Croy, Bradley White, Cambrie White, Laylah Helsel and Isabelle Brothers. He was preceded in death by his wife Rita on February 16, 2016, grandchild Sean Clark, brothers Paul, Marvin, Jimmy and Woolard and sister Zelma Nelson.

Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday, June 7, 2024, at 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Rev. Stephen Austin and Rev. James Wickersham officiating. Burial followed at Memory Gardens Memorial Park Cemetery.
