This year the Oklahoma FFA Association held its 50th Annual Oklahoma FFA Alumni Leadership Camp in Wagoner, Oklahoma. More than 1,600 FFA members from all over the state gathered at the Tulakogee Conference Center for one of four sessions from June 26th to July 9th. This year’s camp theme was “Legacy: Leadership That Lasts.” After being assigned to a cabin and a small group members got to enjoy activities focused on service, team, and personal leadership.
Five members of the Mulhall-Orlando FFA attended one of the first three sessions. After raising our nation’s flag and eating breakfast, members attended General Sessions and Small Group Sessions throughout the day. Our members stayed busy over the course of 3 ½ days as they participated in the ropes course, Water Olympics, dodgeball tournament, and leadership workshops.
Mulhall-Orlando FFA member Kaylee Blagden attended her first alumni camp this year. “It was stressful at first because I didn’t know anyone, but after a day or two it was a lot of fun. By the end of it I didn’t want to leave,” she said later. Casyn Larman also gave his thoughts about camp saying, “It was an amazing experience, and I loved every minute of it! My favorite activity was definitely the ropes course with my small group.”
Whether they were dancing to the “Cupid Shuffle” at a General Session, diving into a kitty pool during the Water Olympics, or getting to know their small group better, the members of the Mulhall-Orlando FFA Chapter had a blast at camp this summer!
