The community came together Saturday, July 4, for the annual Crescent Glory Days celebration, a daylong Independence Day festival filled with patriotic spirit, family-friendly activities and hometown traditions.
Made possible through the support of local sponsors, the annual event brought together residents and visitors for a full schedule of activities celebrating the Fourth of July.
Residents lined the streets for the community parade before spending the day enjoying tournaments, contests, entertainment and activities throughout Crescent.
The festival featured a co-ed softball tournament, cornhole tournament and turtle races, along with a baby pageant and pet pageant. Families also enjoyed inflatable games, a petting zoo, food trucks, local vendors and live musical entertainment throughout the day.
Children and adults alike took part in the festivities, which offered something for all ages while showcasing the strong sense of community that defines Crescent.
The celebration was scheduled to conclude with a fireworks display at Crescent City Park presented by Fireworkz A Poppin. However, approaching storms and unfavorable weather conditions prompted organizers to postpone the show until the evening of July 5 to ensure the safety of attendees.
The festival drew a strong turnout and once again highlighted the community pride that has made Crescent Glory Days a favorite Independence Day tradition.
Organized by community volunteers and supported by generous local sponsors, Crescent Glory Days continues to unite residents, businesses and visitors each Fourth of July while celebrating the traditions and hometown spirit that make Crescent unique.
