Nearly a Century Later, Guthrie Jonquil Club Still Blooming

The Guthrie Jonquil Club, founded in the 1930s, remains one of the oldest garden clubs in Oklahoma and continues its mission of beautifying the community.

The club meets nine months out of the year and maintains a committee dedicated to caring for the gazebo garden at the corner of Division Street and Harrison Avenue. With help from local partners, including Terracotta and Guthrie Greenhouse, the club receives plant donations used to keep the area colorful and welcoming for residents and visitors.

Members work throughout the growing season to plant, maintain and refresh the garden, helping ensure the historic downtown corner remains a bright spot in the community.
