FOR IMMEADIATE RELEASE:
The City of Guthrie is again implementing the Summer Swimming Program to provide complimentary pool access to our citizens. Thanks to the partnership with the First Capital Trolley and Pelican Bay Aquatics Center in Edmond, starting Friday, May 24th, Guthrie citizens can visit Pelican Bay at no cost and start booking the Trolley for future complimentary rides to the waterpark.
Citizens who wish to participate will need to bring proof of residency to the utility window on the 2nd floor of City Hall to receive a wristband that provides access to Pelican Bay for the entire summer. Children ages 3 and under do not need a wristband.
The Trolley will operate as follows:
Starting May 27th, Monday - Saturday: The Trolley leaves from Highland Park at 11:30 AM and departs from Pelican Bay back to Highland Park at 2:30 PM. Patrons of the Trolley will arrive when Pelican Bay opens at noon and have roughly 2 hours to swim and enjoy the aquatics center before heading back to Guthrie at 2:30 PM. Those who wish to use the Trolley must RSVP (details below) by noon the day before so the Trolley can plan what size shuttle will be needed.
**Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult to visit Pelican Bay. Patrons age 13-15 must attend a T.A.S.P. class prior to unsupervised entry. Review more info here> https://pelicanbayaquatics.
*Any person under the age of 18 without their parent must have a signed parental form to ride the trolley.
Guthrie residents who do not wish to use the Trolley can still receive free admission to Pelican Bay Aquatics Center by receiving a wristband from City Hall. Proof of residency with a valid driver's license or with a recent utility bill from the City of Guthrie is required.
*STARTING MAY 27th*
RSVP for a ride to Pelican Bay by contacting the First Capital Trolley.
