Logan County man arrested in road rage shooting

A Logan County businessman was arrested Wednesday, not long after a road rage incident involving shots fired at another car.

Logan County deputies were dispatched to the incident that occurred around 4:30 p.m. near the intersection of Highway 33 and Broadway. It was there where a victim placed a 911 call detailing an exchange that led to shots being fired through the victim’s rear car window.

“He got behind me, kept flipping me off, kept flipping me off,” the caller told the 911 dispatchers. “I pulled over to let him pass, he got behind me, jumped out of his car and shot at me.”

The suspect, Jon Sinon, was taken into custody less than two hours after being found at his home a couple of miles from where the shooting happened.

Deputies were able to track down Sinon’s vehicle, thanks to the Flock camera system on Guthrie roads. The cameras are able to help capture photos of vehicles and license plates that have traveled through a given area.

The victim was able to give an accurate description of the vehicle that Sinon was driving, as well as a description of Sinon himself. This allowed deputies to track Sinon’s vehicle to his home, where he was ultimately found.

According to Logan County Undersheriff Tony Dykes, Sinon admitted to a majority of the details that were provided by the victim. Sinon was then taken to jail, and he is now facing a charge of shooting with intent to kill.
