Guthrie man pleads guilty in 2020 double shooting in Walmart parking lot

Arthur Lee Cloud of Guthrie pleaded guilty in Logan County District Court to three criminal counts related to a double shooting in the Guthrie Walmart parking lot in 2020.

According to court records, Cloud entered a guilty plea to an amended charge of Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon and was sentenced to 10 years in the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, with the last seven years suspended, conditioned on his good behavior. He originally faced a charge of Shooting with Intent to Kill.

Cloud also pleaded guilty to one count of Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and was sentenced to 10 years in prison, with the last seven years suspended. He also was sentenced to serve six months in the Logan County Jail after pleading guilty to a charge of Reckless Conduct with a Firearm.

All of the sentences are to run concurrently, and Cloud was given credit for time served from April 30. He also was ordered to pay all court costs associated with his case.

The shooting incident that took place at the Guthrie Walmart parking lot involved a woman who was with Cloud, and a man he got into an altercation within the store’s parking lot.
