Related Articles

According to the Oklahoma Geological Survey (OGS), 121 earthquakes have occurred in the last seven days (Apr. 28 to May 5 from 1:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.), an increase of 21 from the week before. Last Tuesday, The News Leader reported 100 earthquakes had occurred. In the seven days prior to that report, 83 were reported. The most recent earthquakes range in size from a 1.4 magnitude to a 3.6 magnitude.
The OGS seismologists told The News Leader it would be beneficial to their research if the GNL readers “felt” an earthquake, to call and report it. The telephone number to call in Norman is 405-325-3031. In Leonard, OK, the telephone number is 918-366-4152. Or you may email them at ogs@ou.edu.
